Consultative visits
Why choosing this service? In a rapidly-changing higher education sector, where institutions are becoming more interconnected through institutional mergers, the rise of University Alliances and international networks, consultative visits provide valuable support for strategic development. They help institutions navigate these shifts while maintaining the smooth running of their day-to-day learning and artistic activities.
Objectives
- To provide institutions or programmes with very specific advice on areas they have identified, such as governance, quality assurance or curriculum development
Consultative visits are standalone visits which are not connected to review procedures. In this regard, it is to note that institutions embarking in this process will not be allowed to be reviewed by MusiQuE (within the scope of the ESG) within the 6 following years.
Process and Outcome
- In this process, one or more international experts from the MusiQuE Peer Reviewers’ Register or other professional networks give advice to the institution on transversal topics such as governance, curriculum development or quality assurance, or specific elements of the study programmes offered in music and other performing arts education.
- The topics addressed in the visits are carefully defined with the institution and can delve into areas of interest that might or not be reflected in the MusiQuE Standards. Experts investigate these topics during a 2-to 3-days in person or online visit to the institution.
- The findings from the visit and related reflection from each expert are collected in a tailor-made report including a set of suggestions and recommendations for further enhancement of each of the specific topics.
